Common fiber terms

TY: False twist textured yarn is called DTY (D raw Tex tu red Y a rn), also known as elastic yarn.

DTY network wire: network wire refers to the filament with periodic network points formed by the single filament intertwined with each other in the network nozzle under the action of jet air. Network processing is mostly used for POY, FDY and DTY processing. The low-elastic network silk produced by combining network technology and DTY technology has not only the bulkiness and good elasticity of textured silk, but also many periodicity and network points, which improves the tightness of the filament, saves several processes of textile processing, and improves the ability of the tow to pass through the water-jet loom.

POY and FDY: The spinning speed of high-speed spinning is 3000~6000m/min, and the winding wire with spinning speed less than 4000m/min has a high degree of orientation, which is pre-oriented wire, commonly known as POY (pre-oriented yarn). If the drawing action is introduced in the spinning process, the winding wire with high orientation and medium crystallinity can be obtained, which is fully drawn wire, commonly known as FDY (fully drawn ya rn).

DT: The stretched twisted yarn is called DT (D raw Tw is t). With POY as the precursor, DT can be obtained by drawing and twisting machine, mainly drawing and giving a small amount of twist. 100D ／ 36F, 150D ／ 36F, 50D ／ 18F, etc. These are the representations of fiber specifications. The data above the diagonal line indicates the fiber size, and D is the fiber size unit "denier", that is, in the standard state, expressed by the weight of 9000 meters long fiber, such as 100 grams is 100 denier (100D); The data below the oblique line indicates the number of holes in the spinneret used for spinning, and also indicates the number of monofilaments of this specification, such as 36F, which means that the spinneret used for spinning has 36 holes, that is, the fiber has 36 monofilaments.

Large bright, semi-dull and full dull: in order to eliminate the luster of the fiber, titanium dioxide (TiO2) is added into the melt to reduce the luster of the fiber. If TiO2 is not added in the melt, it is a bright filament (or a large bright filament), 0.3% is a semi-dull filament, and more than 0.3% is a full dull filament.

50D ／ 18F iron: 50 denier 18 hole, iron pipe rolled. 75D ／ 36F paper: 75 denier, 36 holes, rolled in paper tube. 150D/36F cation: It is 150 denier 36 hole, and the dyeing performance is improved by cation.

210D ／ 72F fat and thin silk: 210 denier 72 hole slubby silk. "Fat and thin silk" is a non-standard textile word, which is generally understood as "slubby silk", that is, a period of thick and thin silk.

POY: Pre-oriented wire, full name: PRE-ORIENTED YARN or PARTIALLY ORIENTED YARN. It refers to the chemical fiber filament whose orientation degree is between the non-oriented filament and the drawn filament obtained by high-speed spinning. Compared with un-drawn yarn, it has a certain degree of orientation and good stability, and is often used as a special yarn for drawing false twist textured yarn (DTY). (Generally not used for weaving)

DTY: stretch textured wire, full name: DRAW TEXTURED YARN. It is made by using POY as the precursor for stretching and false twisting deformation. It often has certain elasticity and shrinkage. (Generally, there are network and non-network wire, which means network node)

FDY: full-drawn body silk. Full name: FULL DRAW YARN. Synthetic fiber filament further prepared by spinning and drawing. The fiber has been fully stretched and can be directly used for textile processing. (usually called filament)
